CleanPowerSF is a program of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC).  As the community choice aggregation program of the City and County of San Francisco, CleanPowerSF is overseen by the SFPUC and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and reports regularly to several governmental bodies.

SFPUC Commission

The SFPUC Commission provides operational oversight of CleanPowerSF in areas like rates and charges for services, budget development, approval of contracts, and organizational policy.

San Francisco Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo)

One of LAFCo’s functions is to monitor the development and implementation of the CleanPowerSF program and advise the SFPUC and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

LAFCo meets on the third Friday of each month, unless otherwise noted. View the LAFCo public meeting information and agendas.

SFPUC Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC) and Power Subcommittee

The SFPUC Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC), which includes 17 resident representatives from every district in San Francisco, provides recommendations to the SFPUC and Board of Supervisors. The CAC meets on the third Tuesday of each month.

The CAC also has a Power Subcommittee that is responsible for reviewing the SFPUC’s power generation and transmission system reliability and improvement programs, including but not limited to facilities siting and alternative energy programs, as well as other relevant plans, programs, and policies. The CAC’s Power Subcommittee meets a minimum of four times a year.
