We believe all San Franciscans should have access to affordable and clean electricity. As a not-for-profit power provider, we set our rates based on the cost of getting power to our customers. We invest the money we collect back into our services and programs that serve our local community.

To provide predictability for our customers, CleanPowerSF updates its electricity rates typically just once a year. All proposed rate changes are reviewed, discussed, and adopted through a public and transparent rate setting process.

CleanPowerSF Rates 2026

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) approved an unprecedented reduction in its CleanPowerSF electricity rates, cutting generation charges by 20% to 25%. The rate cuts will take effect March 1, 2026.

Under the approved rates, CleanPowerSF customers can expect the following:

A 25% decrease in generation rates for residential and large commercial (E19 and B19) customers
A 20% decrease in generation rates for all other CleanPowerSF customers
